Stayed for 2 nights.
Taxi from airport was Eur 25 (on the way, £35 on the way back).
Check-in is at 3pm which is a bit late in my opinion (but we knew this when the room was booked), the reception staff were as accomodating as they could be and we did get a room about 1.5 hours early.
We had a superior room (Eur300/n), room 225. It certainly wasn't "big", but was perfectly fine. The room was very stylishly appointed, flat screen TV (Sky news, BBC world and FOX for the english viewer), very comfortable bed (with choice of pillow type), and an excellent bathroom (great shower). Our room was on the opposite side to those overlooking La Rambla, above a cafe/bar, but no consequential noise, probably would have preferred a Rambla room, but maybe they are more expensive.
The business centre is very good, 4 PC's 2 of which attached to printers.
We both had massages, which were excellent and reasonably priced at Eur 70 and Eur 80 respectively, Andres had very strong hands !!
The Spa and indoor pool were great, superbly fitted out, with big steam room and sauna. The pool has 2 lie down jacuzzis in it, very nice touch indeed.
The gym is small with a few free weights (up to 10kg), 2 treadmills, 3 bikes and a stair climber.
The roof top bar is extremely stylish with great beds and chairs, perfect for relaxing in the sun, it is a quality feature, didn't go in the pool, but got the impression it may have been a bit chilly.
Didn't eat in the hotel.
Check-out was well handled.
All in all, a very stylish hotel, it's easy to see why it's No.2 in the chart. |
